A new \’Field Type\’ of \’Timer\’ has been introduced.  This is a countdown clock from a preset value set in the Data Collector app builder.

After a \’Timer\’ field type has been selected in the Data Collector app builder, select the 3 bar icon in the \’Options\’ column.  The \’Timer Option\’ modal will be shown.  Enter a value in seconds for the timer to countdown from.

Select \’Confirm\’ and \’Save\’ or \’Publish\’ the app as required.

On AppCan XP, the user can only submit a record once the \’Timer\’ has reached zero.  If using \’Data Collector Rules\’, field(s) or section(s) can be shown once the timer has reached zero.

Note: The mobile user must be on AppCan XP version 2.1.0 or greater for the \’Timer\’ functionality to work.
